Buyer first
We organize information around the buyer’s decision, not a manufacturer, contractor, or referral payout.
Understanding Roofing exists to make buyers more capable. That requires visible sources, qualified review, careful language, correction history, and a hard line between education and paid installer relationships.
A trust page that cannot show its own review record has not earned the standard it describes. Every field marked pending is recorded here rather than filled with a plausible name or date, and the same block appears on the methodology, buying-kit, and privacy pages.
These are commitments, not achievements. The review record at the top of each page states which of them that page has actually met today.
We organize information around the buyer’s decision, not a manufacturer, contractor, or referral payout.
Quantitative, regulatory, safety, warranty, and performance claims carry a source, scope, geography, date, and review window.
We use ranges and explain variables rather than disguising planning guidance as a precise quote or prediction.
Pricing, code, safety, warranty, and system-design content requires an appropriately qualified technical review before full publication. No page has passed that review yet.
Installer compensation never changes editorial scoring. Sponsored placement and material connections are labeled beside the recommendation.
Material corrections receive a dated note in the log below. Quiet typo fixes do not change the substantive update date.
A material correction is one that changes what a reader would do: a price, a measurement, a code or safety statement, a warranty term, a product limit, or the source a claim rests on. Those receive a dated entry below and a new substantive-update date on the page itself.
Changes that do not appear in this log:
No corrections have been published. This site has never been publicly released, so the log opens empty and begins at first publication rather than being backfilled.
Send the page address and what you believe is wrong to hello@understanding-roofing.com. Be honest about what this is today: a shared mailbox on a pre-publication draft. There is no staffed response-time commitment, no correction form, and no public issue queue yet, and saying so is more useful than promising a process that does not exist.
When installer introductions launch, buyers will see why each installer matched, the vetting criteria, whether a placement is sponsored, and how Understanding Roofing may be paid.
Newsletter or guide consent will never silently authorize contractor contact. Sharing project information will require a separate, explicit step controlled by the buyer.
